Time-delay fuses are designed to withstand temporary overloads, such as starting a motor, without blowing. They allow for a surge in electricity for a short time before the fuse burns and blows out. Time-delay fuses are most commonly used to protect motor circuits.
Time-delay fuses hold 500% current rating for a minimum of ten seconds. They are the same dimensions as UL Class H fuses, but have modified terminals to provide a rejection feature. They fit UL Class R fuse holders, which reject non Class R fuses.
